Those of you in the know that the Ping! project is launching tonight at St Pancras from 6pm – 8pm just next to the John Betjeman statue (he would have approved of us re-kindling this old English sport). There’s rumours of extreme ping pong and a chance to play against Jean-Philippe Gatien, former World Champion. Do you, ahem, have the balls?
And remember, all the tables are going out from today and will be in place for Saturday 24th July. So check out locations here and bats at the ready!
For a few logistical reasons we’re moving the ‘Ping Pong Quiz Show’ from this evening to Thursday 5th August and Thursday 12th August. I know it will be tough waiting quite so long for those boys and they’re parlour tricks – but it will be worth it. Tickets available for those shows right here
John, an excellent man and brilliant table tennis coach, from the English Table Tennis Association (ETTA) popped in on Saturday to give parlour patrons some hints and tips on how to improve their skills.
He had rave reviews, so we’ll be running sessions at the parlour ever Wednesday (5pm-8pm) starting tomorrow, and Saturday (12pm-3pm). Group sessions (of up to 6 people) are just £5 per person/ hour. A small price to pay for a devilish chop. If you want to sign up – drop an email over to pingpongparlour@gmail.com with your name, desired date and time.
Can be found here, on this facebook page. We’ll be adding more this weekend so watch this space.
We got off to a great start on our first day. STK’s Ping Pong Quiz show whipped the crowd into a veritable ponging frenzy in the evening. Just look at how much fun people had. It was so exciting that there was even some nudity (in the strip pong round). If you missed it, don’t worry STK will be back next week at the Ping Pong Parlour on Thursday night with the next instalment, buy your tickets here.
Those great cats at Puma are going to be supporting the ping pong parlour. They’ll be helping us produce bags, bats and ball kits to sell as well as excellent t-shirts and prizes for competitions. Thank you, Puma.
